Get ready, the famous University of Tennessee Rock will soon be moved to a new location across the street from where it now stands. It’s being moved in order to make room for a new Student Health Center.
In this post we talk about 3 ways to find surcharge-free ATMs or shared branch locations when you are on the road and away from your computer.
Mobile Locator
UTFCU’s Mobile Banking service includes Mobile Locator (ML), a quick and easy way to find UTFCU branches, ATMs, and other important credit union information on your web-enabled mobile telephone. You can navigate to the Mobile Locator website by either logging into your Mobile Banking account and selecting the Mobile Locator link on the main page or by typing this address directly into your browser’s address bar: https://m.utfcu.org. If you travel frequently, it’s a good idea to save the address to your list of bookmarks or favorites.
Find a CO-OP Network surcharge-free ATM
The CO-OP network includes over 28,000 surcharge-free ATMs throughout the US and Canada. To find an ATM near you, simply text your address, intersection, or zip code to 692667 (MYCOOP) from any mobile phone. Additionally, you can download all 28,000 locations to your Garmin, Tom Tom, or other GPS device by clicking here.
Add CU Service Centers (shared branching locations) to your GPS
Next time you’re on the road and need to conduct banking you might want to consider one of the 3,628 shared branching locations. At these locations, you can conduct many of the same banking activities you would at a regular UTFCU branch such as making deposits, transferring funds, checking your account balance, or making loan payments. Call 1-800-919-CUSC (2872) to find a shared branching location near you or click here to download the locations to your GPS.

We’re offering this service for free to any member who is signed up or Home Banking, but you’ll definitely want to check with your service provider to see what rates and charges you will incur from them before you log in.

The beginning of the Fall semester is a busy time for everyone, including us. In the past several days, we’ve been on campus at various locations and events talking about the benefits of becoming a member of UT Federal Credit Union, encouraging you to sing Rocky Top for a chance to win a Wii, and inviting you to Guitar Hero night at the the Mellow Mushroom. If we’ve missed you, don’t worry, there are still plenty of chances to have fun and learn more about UTFCU. We’re hosting another Guitar Hero night along with two tailgate parties and several other exciting events, which you can learn more about by visiting our online calendar. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Knoxville, Tenn. (August 5, 2008) – As the University of Tennessee Volunteers are gearing up for the 2008-2009 season, the Orange Nation is working to coordinate another year of student support and excitement. UT Federal Credit Union (UTFCU) has joined this support network by becoming the “Official Bank of Orange Nation.” The partnership between Orange Nation and UTFCU will provide Orange Nation with additional monetary resources to reach out to students in coordinating the support network counted on by athletes, coaches, and other Volunteer fans when facing another season of fierce SEC competition.
“UT is very important to us, it’s even part of our name,” Debbie Jones, UT Federal Credit Union CEO, said. “As important as athletics are to all of us, the students are our primary reason for entering this partnership. Americans under the age of 25 are filing bankruptcy faster than any other age group. We want to reach out to college students and help them get their financial lives on the right foot.”
According to Daniel Ezelle, Vice President of the Orange Nation, “Orange Nation is delighted to have UT Federal Credit Union facilitate our financial services. Orange Nation’s affiliation with UTFCU has not only granted us with preeminent financial services, it has also allowed UTFCU to offer several scholarships for Orange Nation members.”
UTFCU is doing far more than sponsoring Orange Nation as it reaches out to the student population this year. “We have several special events planned in the coming months,” adds Malinda Wood, UT Federal Credit Union Marketing Manager. “Tailgate parties are planned for the first two home football games, we’ve designed an interactive student oriented web site (UTFCU-ROCKS.COM), hosting Guitar Hero and ‘Sing Rocky Top’ events, and we’re giving away free music cards, a Nintendo Wii, 20 UT student football season ticket vouchers, and much more.”
Show your school spirit for a chance to win some cool prizes including vouchers for UT student season football tickets (20 available). Record yourself singing Rocky Top, post the recording to YouTube, and send us the link. We’ll post our favorite entries on UTFCU Rocks and enter everyone who participates in the contest. Don’t have a camcorder? No problem. Just visit our booth in the student center during student storm, rock out with us at the Mellow Mushroom, come to our tailgate party, or visit our main branch just off the strip on White Avenue and we’ll do all the work for you!
Everyone who participates receives a card good for a free music download (while supplies last). Early Entry Bonus - Submit your entry before the end of June and we will give you 2 cards instead of one!
We will post all entries to the Contest section of this website.
We’re working on several exciting projects over here at UTFCU. If you’ve looked through this site you’ve probably already noticed a few of them—like using Twitter and text messages to keep in touch with you—our member; not to mention the blog that you’re reading right now. Well, the excitement finally got the best of us and we cracked under the pressure of trying to keep everything to ourselves, so we grabbed some spray paint and headed to “the rock” on the main UT-Knoxville campus. We decided to keep the message simple; only showing the new UTFCU Rocks logo and directions for subscribing to our text message updates. I’m pretty sure the whole thing was repainted a few hours after we finished, but lucky for you the moment will be preserved forever thanks to our Flip video recorder and YouTube.
UTFCU member ThinkLia was able to swing by and grab some photos of our artistic creation as well. Make sure to check them out on our Flickr group! Remember, you can submit your own pictures by joining the UTFCU-Rocks group on Flickr. We’ll post links to the best pictures on this site and hopeful send some web traffic your way!
Have you ever painted the rock? We’d love to hear about it. Tell us about your experience by adding a comment to this post!
